MCC Annual General Meeting 14 July 2016

The Annual General Meeting of Merton Cycling Campaign will be held at 8pm on Thursday 14 July at All Saints Centre, All Saints Road, Wimbledon, SW19 1BX.

The main agenda item is to review and adopt the the revised constitution, which is solidly based on the model constitution for LCC Groups. Also on the agenda is:

• Treasurer's Report 
• Chairman's Report

All members of Merton Cycling Campaign are welcome to attend and participate in the meeting.

Road casualties in Merton: decade to 2014

Today, November the 15th is the World Day of Remembrance for road traffic victims. http://worlddayofremembrance.org/

Merton continues to show slow progress in addressing road danger, but the data provides worrying indicators for where that danger is likely to fall.  The group Travel Independent publishes annual analysis of road traffic casualties, 2014 recorded a rise for all groups of road users.

Public meeting on road safety in Dundonald Ward

Following the crash on the 30th September in which a schoolboy was seriously injured while cycling on Merton Hall Road, the local Councillors for the Dundonald Ward have called a public meeting. This will be held on Wednesday the 11th November from 7:00-8:30pm at the Wimbledon Chase Primary School.

The revised Colliers Wood junction, your views wanted.

Transport for London have recently completed their work to transform the busy junction in Colliers Wood between Merton High St and the start of CS7. The most welcome feature is the bypass lane which avoids an unnecessary wait at the lights.

However there is concern at how well the rest of the changes function.

Prudential FreeCycle Feeder Ride, 1st August

New Malden to Raynes Park link, community event this Saturday

Community event on footbridge between Alric and Dukes Avenue
Saturday 20 June 10am to 1pm

The New Malden to Raynes Park link is a project progressing under Kingston's successful Mini-Holland bid. The aim of the event is to provide local residents with detailed feedback from previous engagement events with particular focus on safety and local ecology issues. Sustrans, who are developing the route on behalf of Kingston Council will be attending, along with LCC representatives from Merton and Kingston.
